Activate your card.
To activate and pin your debit card, dial 1-800-290-7893. The automated system will walk you through the entire activation process including choosing a PIN for your new card. You can use the same phone number to change your existing PIN. *If you have exceeded your allowed number of pin attempts, please call MBT Bank at 641-585-2825.
Travel with your card.
Avoid unnecessary interruptions when traveling
Notify MBT Bank of any upcoming trips prior to your departure. Let us know your destination and dates of the trip. If possible, use your card on the way to your destination and use your PIN when possible.
What if my card gets blocked while I am traveling?
If your card gets blocked while you are traveling, you should receive a text message, phone call, and email from our Fraud Center asking you to confirm the questioned purchase. Please respond to the Fraud Center to confirm if the questioned transaction is yours and your card will immediately be unblocked.
What do I do if I lose my card while traveling?
Call us during banking hours at 1-800-872-5630 or 641-585-4514 or turn your card off in digital banking or MyCardRules.
Fraudulent Activity? Lost or Stolen Card?
Suspicious Activity
If you find suspicious transactions, contact MBT Bank immediately. An employee will work with you to start the appropriate paperwork to resolve the issue. If the charge is linked to your debit card, we will cancel your current card and order you a new card, with a new number, to prevent future fraud.
If it is after banking hours, please turn off your debit card in digital banking or the MyCardRules app to prevent additional fraudulent charges.
If you mark your card as lost or stolen in digital banking, please contact MBT Bank to reorder your card. The app does not automatically reorder your card.
Fraud Center
You may be contacted by our Fraud Center to confirm suspicious transactions flagged as fraudulent. They will reach out to you via text message, phone call, or email asking you to confirm the questioned purchase. Please respond to the Fraud Center to confirm if the questioned transaction is yours and your card will immediately be unblocked.
